Dissent – perceptually lofty, yet dichotomously offensive.
As Gerald Seymour once said: “One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter” – yet lest you forget – one man’s freedom fighter is another man’s terrorist.
Dissent is a state of contrarianism, of challenge to an ideal set. Yet is itself in defense of ideals – albeit alternate ideals – therefore noble merely in the context of its own existence, (for were the dissenting position be the prevailing one, would not the aggressor become the dissenter as it were?)
